The Mists of Avalon

This book is huge. Eight hundred pages of alternating total awesomeness and boredom. The characters are very interesting and cool, which makes me want to read more. a similar writing style to The Belgariad by David Eddings. And also the author of this book is Marion Zimmer Bradley.

This book is about the women in the stories of king Arthur. It alternates between the perspectives of Igraine, Arthur's mother, Morgaine, Arthur's sister, Vivaine, Igraine's sister, and Gwenhwyfar, Arthur's wife. This would be an excellent trip book, as it is long and yet interesting. Some parts are very adult though, and so I would highly suggest that those new to AS not read this book. It is a very challenging read as well, so it is a challenge overall.
