Sol

Dreaming is one of the most important and interesting parts of my life right now. The following is a bit of a dream that I had last night.

The rumble echoes through my bones like a train coming to a stop underneath you, deep, insistent, continuous. It is the dam bursting. The forested path sweeps gently at first and then angrily and aggressively to the river flowing from the huge and impressive dam. The river is silver in the noon sunlight, and it glimmers, but not enough to blind me. It is far below, the verdant wildflower dotted slope reaching about a hundred and fifty feet below. On the other side of the river the slope is a rich emerald rather than the peridot glimmer of this side of the river. the pines on both sides of the river creak and moan as the wind pierces through them on the cool and calm day. The rumble is the dam, creaking and groaning from the pressure of the falls. The water explodes forth from the dam, and the gorge is suddenly full of chunks of flying cement and water, spurting from the walls of the valley below. I run, as fast as I can along the deep brown path, roots blocking my way, causing me to hurdle them as I run. The deep forest is beside me and I run, swiftly, as I am pursued. There are two dogs in front of me. Both are fast and both are terrified. We speed through, barely missing the roots with our feet. We have to keep going, because it is near, the darkness caressing my back with it's fingers, snapping and crackling at our heels.

  1. Terrifying dream, & it has happened, all that water! I enjoyed the detail of all that surrounded, and the good tension building-running, leaping, darkness caressing my back...

  3. That sounds like a fairly intense dream! I liked all the visuals and how you described different senses.
